Despite cool temperatures and scattered showers, a record number of golfers took part in the 3rd Annual MGA Junior Golf Fund Golf Tournament at TPC of Boston in Norton. All monies raised will go directly to The First Tee of Massachusetts which provides junior golf programming to thousands of children from across the Bay State.

A group of youngsters enjoyed a trip of a lifetime. On August 24, 12 youngsters representing The First Tee of Massachusetts competed in The Barclays Tri-Match at Plainfield Country Club in Edison, NJ. Those golfers were joined by teams from The First Tee chapters of Metropolitan New York and Ireland.

The First Tee of Massachusetts continues to shine in the national spotlight. A four-player team consisting of Liz LaVerghetta, Cora Bernier, Trevor Bernier, and John Beadle were recently crowned champions of the 7th Annual Golf Channel Invitational for The First Tee.

A group of more than 150 participants of The First Tee of Massachusetts enjoyed a special event at the TPC of Boston in Norton. In what has become an annual tradition at the PGA Tour event, children from The First Tee of Massachusetts were treated to the Deutsche Bank Championship Kids Exhibition which featured David Ogron, the world’s fastest golfer.

As part of a special lead-up to the playing of the 2009 Deutsche Bank Championship, members of the Boston Bruins were on hand at the TPC of Boston on Tuesday to present The First Tee of Masssachusetts with a check for $18,000.
