Nearly 400 youth from 25 different communities participate annually in a seven-week golf and life skills development program at MGA Links at Mamantapett. As part of the curriculum, the children progress through a series of golf lessons where they are introduced to the different aspects of a golf course including the green, tee, fairway, rough, bunkers and water hazards.

Special Needs Programming

During the summer of 2006, the teaching staff at MGA Links at Mamantapett hosted free clinics for groups of students from the Perkins and Carroll Schools for the Blind. The day included a tour of the facility, golf instruction and lunch. This year marks the fifth year that the Perkins and Carroll Schools for the Blind have taken part in the day-long golf clinics at the MGA Links facility in Norton.

Summer Junior Clinics conducted at MGA Links

During the summer season, the teaching staff at The First Tee of Massachusetts headquarters -- MGA Links at Mamantapett --conduct a series of free golf clinics for area youth every Saturday morning from 7:30 am to 8:30 am during the months of April – October.

Continuing Education Programs

As part of its mission to reach out to underprivledged youth from across the state, the Massachusetts Golf Association, through its ForeKids Golf Program and The First Tee of Massachusetts, conducts continuing education clinics during the winter months. Over 500 youth participate annually.

ForeKids Golf Program

Before there was The First Tee of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Golf Association reached out to underprivledged youth through its nationally-heralded ForeKids Golf Program. These junior golf clinics were first conducted back in 1993 for Boston-area children and have since grown to include summer and winter programming. MGA Links at Mamantapett now serves as the home for the ForeKids Golf Program
