Worcester, MA — More than 70 golfers traveled to Worcester this afternoon to take part in the 4th Annual MGA Junior Golf Fund Tournament.
This annual fundraising event was held at Worcester Country Club under rainy and cool skies... but that didn't keep the participants from having a great time.

"We were excited to have so many take part in this year's event," said Joe McCabe, executive director of The First Tee of Massachusetts. "Despite the challenges posed by the weather, it was one of our most successful tournaments to date."
In addition to the golf (prizes were awarded to the top net and gross scorers), the event also raised important funds to support the MGA Junior Golf Fund which supports The First Tee of Massachusetts.
In addition to learning basic skills of the game, The First Tee of Massachusetts participants are introduced to the nine core values inherent in the game: honesty, integrity, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, sportsmanship, judgment, respect and courtesy.
The MGA offers these programs to the children at no charge and provides on-course access at sites across the state. The unique life skills platform of The First Tee helps participants become comfortable introducing themselves to others, meeting new people, learning something new, setting goals, and dealing with conflict. The life skills learned are useful for the participants both on and off the golf course.
On behalf of the thousands of participants who take part annually in The First Tee of Massachusetts... THANK YOU to all for a great day!
